In late 2017 ANMF representatives and members working at Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT) sites were involved in a stop work meeting at Rosary Gardens as part of ongoing industrial action with the employer. Since this event, SCCT management has not come back with a revised offer for consideration at this point. The Fair Work Commission has extended the bargaining period for the SCCT 2017 agreement for 3 months. SCCT has committed to discussing the agreement with ANMF after their board meeting on 29 January 2018. In light of this, ANMF members and representatives have elected to continue the rolling industrial bans. ANMF encourages all members to continue wearing their campaign t-shirts and badges while at work.
ANMF will be holding member meetings with SCCT members over the next 2 weeks to discuss future actions. We will be looking to hold further stop work meetings after these consultations unless we hear back from the employer with a revised offer.
If you have any questions, or you do not receive member meeting invitations for your workplace over the next week, please contact the ANMF Member Support Team via email, email@example.com or phone (03) 6223 6777 or 1800 001 241 (if outside Hobart).
