HESTA is the industry super fund dedicated to people who provide some of the best health and community services in the world. With more than 840,000 members and $51 billion invested globally on their behalf, HESTA has learned a thing or two about looking after their members.
“We speak up for others. We stand alongside our partners and members, advocating for a super system that better caters for people working in your sector. And, more broadly, women and First Australians.
As an industry super fund we work for you – not shareholders. We keep our fees down, costs low, and provide commission-free advice. It’s all part of the service. That way more money stays in our members’ super accounts working for their future.
Speaking of the future, we invest our members’ super thoughtfully, and intelligently. We take care of our members’ money as if it were our own, aiming to maximise long-term financial return while supporting a cleaner, greener future.
We’re not just smart investors. We’re passionate about sharing our expertise through information and advice. And it’s our job to do everything we can to help, so our members can live their very own version of happy ever after.”

How we’re helping our members at this time
These are unprecedented, challenging times for our community, and most especially for your members. We recognise that the incredible work they are doing is critically important to support our community through this coronavirus outbreak.
We’ve stood with our sector through many challenges over the past 32 years and we’re doing everything we can to support you now, and into the future.
We know HESTA members may be feeling concerned about the coronavirus impact, and how share market volatility might affect their super. Our investment team is highly experienced at managing our members’ investments through major events like these. And our advice team is also helping members understand what’s happening and what they might need to think about.
Like many businesses, our Trustee Office is now working remotely, and we have re-deployed HESTA employees to increase our advice service to members.
Our advice teams can provide advice to your members remotely – through online Zoom video meetings and phone appointments.
We’re also working through ways to continue providing education and other services virtually.
As you may be aware, The Federal Government has announced changes to super access in response to the coronavirus. Under the new rules, people financially impacted by the coronavirus could access up to $10,000 of their super in 2019-20 and a further $10,000 in 2020-21.
We are helping members understand these changes and you can find out more here.
In coordination with other leaders in our industry, we’re also working with the Government and regulators on how these changes will be administered to ensure those eligible have their claims processed as fast as possible.
The announcement of these changes and the ongoing volatility on share markets has resulted in our contact centre experiencing high call volumes. We are doing our utmost to reduce wait times and get to every member who needs assistance.
Find out more about how we’re responding to market changes and supporting your members.
Finally, I want to pass my best wishes to your family and loved ones. It’s especially important that at times like this we look out for each other, and at HESTA we feel tremendously privileged to be able to support our members as they deliver vital services to our community.
