Integrated Operations Centre (IOC)

The ANMF received a response from management to our request for additional information regarding the IOC Change Proposal. Details have been provided to members for their consideration. The ANMF will seek to meet with members following the Easter break to collate feedback to this letter and the Change Proposal prior to sending an official response by the new due date of 22 April 2020.

Paediatrics Unit

The ANMF conducted a member meeting in Ward 3A – Paediatrics on Monday 6 April 2020. This meeting was well attended and generated some robust discussion and feedback around the K-Block/Adolescent Unit Change Proposal. The ANMF will draft a formal response based on feedback received during this meeting, which will be provided to members at the earliest convenience. Further member meetings will be scheduled once a response to this feedback has been received.

Car parking in Hobart

The ANMF have received several contacts from members regarding ongoing car parking arrangements for staff in light of the COVID-19 crisis response. As a result, the ANMF have lobbied on behalf of members across various levels of Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management and also spoken directly with the Hobart City Council (HCC). Members are advised to consult the HCC website for advice on all discount offers presently available to staff. The ANMF will continue to advocate for members on this topic as the situation progresses.

Access to scrubs during COVID-19 response

The ANMF have received several contacts from members regarding the possibility of staff having access to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) provided scrubs upon arrival for shifts, returning these scrubs post shift for THS washing and re-circulation. This suggestion is being considered by THS management. The ANMF will continue to advocate for this system on behalf of members in the interest of the safety of workers and their families.

COVID-19 Response – South

The ANMF would like to thank and congratulate all members for their professionalism and dedication displayed throughout the COVID-19 crisis. In such trying and uncertain times, it is a credit to staff that they have managed to uphold the highest standards of care and integrity to patients, the public and to each other. The ANMF will endeavour to maintain a strong presence throughout the public and private sector and encourage members with any concerns to contact ANMF via membersupport@anmftas.org.au  or (03) 6223 6777 during regular business hours.
