Presbyterian Care Tasmania – Regis Take Over
ANMF are holding urgent membership meetings for all Presbyterian Care Tasmania nursing and care staff to discuss the Regis Aged Care take over of the Warrane, Legana and Norwood Presbyterian Care sites. ANMF Visit Update
ANMF visited the following aged care sites to see members and discuss any professional and industrial issues; Masonic Care Tasmania Peace Haven , Southern Cross Care Glenara Lakes and Cadorna House. ANMF enjoyed the opportunity to meet with members and update notice boards.

Cadorna House
The ANMF visited Cadorna House to hold a morning tea with members, it was a great opportunity to discuss concerns and update members on the latest ANMF news.
Aged Care Deloraine
ANMF has been visiting both sites at Deloraine in preparation for the Enterprise Agreement Negotiations. ANMF have sent the log of claims to the CEO and Human Resources Manager in early April and await dates for the first negotiation meeting. Once this has occurred, ANMF will arrange a report back meeting for members at both sites. We look forward to working with members on their Enterprise Agreement.
EA Agreements in Aged Care
It has been a busy time at ANMF with negotiations of Enterprise Agreements in full swing. At the time of print, the following EA’s are currently being progressed: Corumbene Two negotiation meetings have been held at Corumbene, where ANMF is negotiating on behalf of both nurses and carers in their separate agreements. Management have made an offer to be bought back to members for discussion. Look out for ANMF holding meetings on site to hear members opinions on the offer. Statewide issues continue in Aged Care
ANMF Organisers are dealing with workload challenges, roster vacancies and increasing demands on care workers and nurses due to the high acuity of residential care. Nursing homes are admitting residents who have been cared for in the home but come to facilities because of their higher care needs. This is putting greater pressure on Clinical staff at most facilities, these statewide trends continue to be apparent and we will continue to advocate for our hard working members in both the public and private sectors. OneCare Rubicon Grove and Umina Park
Meetings have been held at both OneCare sites in the North West to seek endorsement of the nurses enterprise agreement log of claims. Members at both sites endorsed the log of claims which will now be presented to management. These meetings are a way for members to have their say in regards to the Enterprise Agreement and to gain further knowledge of their entitlements.
Aged Care Deloraine
Meetings have been held at Deloraine Grenoch Home for the Aged and Kanangra Hostel to present the Log of Claims for the All Staff Enterprise Agreement. Members at both sites endorsed the log of claims, which was developed from the survey sent to members earlier this year. The log of claims will now be presented to management at negotiation meetings.
Aged Care Visits across the North
In addition to members meetings at our aged care sites across the north the ANMF ember Engagement Officer has also visited the following sites to share morning tea with members, update the notice boards with the latest education flyers and news from the ANMF, bring out merchandise to members and discuss any professional or industrial issues. ANMF visited members at Medea Park on 20th March 2017 to discuss progress regarding their current enterprise agreement negotiations.
OneCare The Manor
ANMF attended a meeting with our members from The Manor on 28th March 2017 to discuss their draft Log Of Claims in preparation for the upcoming enterprise agreement negotiations.
Masonic Homes Fred French
ANMF attended a meeting with members at the Masonic Fred French site to discuss the draft log of claims in preparation for upcoming enterprise agreement negotiations. ANMF will be attending the Masonic Peace Haven site on 3rd April at 1400hrs. We look forward to this meeting with members.
Queen Victoria Care
ANMF have had several meetings with management at Queen Victoria Care about current workload issues and the Model Of Care. Management have given commitments to the following: Medication Management The whole medication management system is under review with investigations to be completed to achieve more sustainable drug rounds, also better consultation with GP’s and Pharmacy. Workloads Management have asked that RN’s attend all clinical meetings with the new Executive Director Of Care, it is important so that the current duty sheets can be updated and areas of concern can be addressed. Northern Round-Up
The ANMF’s Member Engagement Officer enjoyed attending to the Northern Aged Care sites to update notice boards and have professional and industrial conversations with our members. The following Aged Care sites visited where: One Care – The Manor, Masonic Peace Haven, Uniting Aged Well – Aldersgate Village and Southern Cross Care – Glenara Lakes. Nurses and midwives helpline now launched
Nurses and midwives now have a national 24/7 helpline to turn to for confidential support if they are struggling with addiction, mental health issues or general stresses of the job. The confidential services can be accessed by dialing 1800 667 877. Read more about the service here
Meercroft Care
On Tuesday 1 March 2017, ANMF met with members from Meercroft Care to discuss the Log of Claims (LOC) for the up and coming Enterprise Agreement (EA) process. Members provided feedback and endorsement of the draft LOC. ANMF are now in the process of amending the LOC as per our members direction and this will be served on the employer by close of business Friday 10 March.
