CPD 2019 Venous Access and Cannulation – Launceston

This workshop explores the underpinning theory and techniques of venous access and cannulation. From here participants will have practical time to learn about the appropriate techniques for phlebotomy and cannulation, best practice, and available devices. During this session, participants will work on simulated arms. This is a hands on session for participating attendees.
Who will this workshop benefit?
This session will benefit registered nurses, enrolled nurses and midwives involved in the care of patients in all areas of healthcare. Students are also welcome to attend.
Morning Session – 3 CPD Hours
In this half day session participants will be reviewing back to basics knowledge on the venous system and vein selection for cannulation. Learn the theory of phlebotomy and related essential knowledge, the theory of cannulation, best practice techniques, and device selection.
Note: Completion of full competency requires that a further 4 successful supervised episodes are completed by a proficient practitioner in the workplace for recognition of competence. Ongoing competence requires that you maintain a minimum of 5 procedures throughout the year.
You must preregister to attend workshops; payment must be made at the time of registration. In the event that you need to cancel a booked CPD workshop, the following policies apply.
