Wound Care Workshop – Launceston

This workshop is aimed at all enrolled nurses, registered nurses and midwives who care for patients with wounds across all healthcare settings. The workshop will refresh knowledge on up to date evidence around wound healing and best practices for wound cleansing and dressing products.
Who will this workshop benefit?
This is aimed at all enrolled, registered nurses, midwives involved in the care of patients across all settings of the healthcare industry. This workshop can also be attended by student nurses who are transitioning into clinical practice.
This is a full day of training divided into AM and PM sessions. You may attend either the AM or PM session, or both sessions. Attend the AM session for basics and/or the PM session for expert level content.
Catering is provided for participants attending both sessions.
Morning Session – 3 CPD Hours
This back to basics session is a re-introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the skin, wounds and their healing processes. The National Safety and Quality Health Service Standard (NSQHS) requirements for your workplace and patient care as well as tools used to assess wounds and pressure areas will also be discussed.
Afternoon Session – 3 CPD Hours
This advanced session is for nurses experienced in wound care looking to explore the current variety of wound care products and the clinical information needed to use them in the practice setting. You will hear from a clinical expert on complex wound issues and best practice standards for wound dressing techniques.
