ANMF sponsored afternoon tea for a training day for staff working at North and North West Child Health and Protective Services as part of celebrations for International Nurses Day. Organiser Marita Meadows enjoyed speaking with members and will be arranging meetings in the North West in the coming weeks to provide further information to members.
ANMF Organiser Marita Meadows had the honour of meeting Graduate nurses at the North West Regional Hospital last week. The Graduates are part of the latest intake into the Transition to Practice program. ANMF regularly attend new staff inductions across the state to provide information to new staff on the benefits of ANMF membership.
With enterprise bargaining negotiations commencing last week, ANMF will be holding report back meetings in the coming weeks, keep a look out for flyers with further details.
ANMF Organiser Marita Meadows travelled to Smithton this week to present the Aged Care Excellence award to Dave Dunkerly. Dave was nominated earlier this year for his commitment to the residents where he works.
The ANMF conducted significant consultation and obtained feedback from members working in the acute mental health services at Northside. The ANMF met with Tasmanian Health Service management on 15 May 2017 to discuss the issues of work health and safety. The information obtained at these meetings will be relayed to members shortly and appropriate direction taken.
