Eskleigh Homes
The ANMF met with members at Eskleigh Homes on Thursday 8 August, to discuss concerns around the now added task for carers on the floor to manage on-call requirements for the out of hours period. The ANMF have corresponded with management about these concerns and have now received a response from the CEO. We are currently consulting with members regarding this response.
Aged Care Deloraine
The ANMF met with members at Kanangra and Grenoch on Thursday 15 August, to discuss the process for a replacement Aged Care Deloraine Agreement. The ANMF have consulted with members regarding the employer’s proposal to rollover the existing agreement with an annual wage increase to apply. Members have given preliminary support to this concept subject to a formal wage offer from the employer and timeframe for the agreement. The ANMF will seek further feedback from members once a receipt of the formal offer is received.
Mt St Vincent Nursing Home and Therapy Centre
The ANMF met with members on 13 August 2019, during this visit members reported concerns about the unavailability of a senior manager on one weekend. The ANMF Workplace Representative raised this with the Facility Manager who has made a commitment that this will not happen again. Other issues relating to workload and unplanned leave were also discussed. The ANMF will continue to monitor the situation to evaluate progress in addressing concerns.
OneCare Rubicon Grove
ANMF Organiser, Noni Morse and Workplace Representative, Sandy Meech met with OneCare managers on 5 August, to discuss issues relating to staffing, workload, and changes to the handover process. Mangers committed to providing written information to staff to address concerns related to unintended consequences of changes to handover. Managers advised members to report staffing and workload issues to the nurse in charge. The ANMF Member Engagement officer met with members on 14 August 2019 to evaluate progress and members reported several concerns during this meeting. ANMF Organiser, Noni Morse will document concerns and liaise with Sandy Meech and Managers to schedule a further meeting to identify solutions.
