The employer will now lodge the agreement in the Fair Work Commission. Eskleigh Nurses The ANMF is reviewing draft clauses proposed by the employer. Update: Safe staffing model 14 November 2018 The ANMF (Tas Branch) have been in consultation with the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) in working on a safe staffing model of care for the for the District Hospitals statewide. The ANMF will be attending sites to obtain member feedback in the coming weeks, and we look forward to touching base with our members and gathering their response on the draft modelling.
Update: Specialist Panel Meetings 14 November 2018 The ANMF (Tas Branch) have been attending Specialist Panel meetings with the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management, and are currently monitoring the workload concerns. We encourage members to provide any workload feedback to their local organiser.
Update: Staff and Skill Mix on 4D 14 November 2018 The ANMF (Tas Branch) are closely monitoring the staffing and skill mix on ward 4D at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH). The ANMF encourage members to contact their local organiser regarding workloads, and will conduct member meetings prior to the report back at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC).
Update: Joint Union Meeting 14 November 2018 A joint union meeting was held on 7 November 2018 with CPSU and HACSU. Members raised issues to do with current staffing vacancies, overtime, double shifts and workload. A further meeting was held on Monday 12 November and a joint union letter will be sent to the Wilfred Lopes Centre (WLC) management this week regarding the issues raised.
Update: Specialist Panel 14 November 2018 A specialist panel, in line with the step 2 grievance procedure took place on 6 November. Failure of the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) to meet the agreed terms of the specialist panel by Friday 9 November resulted on the submission of a Section 29, in line with step 3 of the grievance procedure. A meeting will be held with members on Wednesday 14 November to provide further information in relation to this stage of the grievance procedure. Update: Royal Hobart Hospital Maternity 14 November 2018 A member meeting was held on 31 October with members from the Maternity Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). Clarification regarding ANMF’s position on Birthrate Plus was sent to members as a Newsflash on 7 November. A step one workload grievance was raised on 2 November and a meeting took place with the Maternity Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) on 8 November. Subsequently the grievance was raised to a step 2 on 9 November. A follow up meeting was held today with a specialist panel to be convened on 29 November.
Update: Ongoing matters 14 November 2018 An update was provided to members on 8 November regarding ongoing matters at Correctional Primary Health Service (CPHS) to do with; E-Prescribing, Administration and supply of medication and the Taskforce review at CPHS, see newsflash here. A meeting will be held with members on Wednesday 14 November to further update members in relation to these matters.

Update: ANMF attends TasTAFE nursing class 14 November 2018 Organiser, Noni Morse presented to an Aged Care and an Enrolled Nursing class at TasTAFE. Practical examples drawn from the students’ experiences were used to demonstrate the industrial and professional roles of the ANMF.
Update: Meeting 14 November 2018 A meeting was held on 6 November to discuss a number of challenges facing this highly specialised service. The ANMF is committed to working with members and management to resolve these issues.
Update: Walkarounds at Hospitals 14 November 2018 Walkarounds have been undertaken by ANMF Organiser, Noni Morse and Mandy Clark, Member Engagement Officer on 29 October 2018 at the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) and on 31 October 2018 at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH). Members in the operating theatres at both hospitals have escalated industrial action the week beginning 5 November 2018. Representative meetings will be held on 14 November. Keep an eye out for flyers to be circulated via email. The next event will be a public rally on 21 November 2018 at the Mersey Community Hospital.
Update: Joint Consultative Committee Meetings 14 November 2018 ANMF continues to attend the Community Health Nursing and Home Care Services Integration Joint Consultative Committee meetings. The Tasmanian Health Service (THS) has agreed to delay the transition of the Community Health Nurses until February 2019. Members expressed relief at this delay.
Update: Meeting re-scheduled 14 November 2018 The inaugural meeting of the Workload Management Working Group has been re-scheduled to Thursday 6 December 2018. Members met on Monday 29 October 2018 to discuss concerns about the Programme Support Structure and the recruitment to the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The meeting to discuss these concerns is to be re-scheduled.
