ANMF Organiser, Noni Morse presented to 15 students undertaking the Certificate III in Individual Support. Fourteen students joined and were provided with advice on how to manager worksite issues.
ANMF Organiser, Noni Morse attended a members’ meeting on 1 May 2018. Members reported a number of issues which have been relayed to the Director of Nursing (DON). ANMF will provide a summary of issues in writing and will request a meeting to investigate and identify solutions.

ANMF have confirmed the first bargaining meeting for a replacement Aged Care Services Australia Group (ACSAG) Enterprise Agreement 2018. This meeting will occur on Thursday 24 May 2018. Following this meeting ANMF will schedule a report back meeting with members.
ANMF will be meeting with management from Aged Care Deloraine (ACD) to continue negotiations for a replacement Enterprise Agreement. In a disappointing move ACD management proposed last minute changes to a draft agreement that ANMF was to present to members for review and consideration. Unfortunately, these changes where not discussed during the initial bargaining period. ANMF will return to the negotiating table on Tuesday 22 May to resolve these outstanding matters. Following this meeting ANMF will schedule a report back meeting with members.
On Thursday 10 May 2018, ANMF attended the first negotiation meeting with Toosey management for a replacement Enterprise Agreement 2018. Please see here for details on the outcome of the meeting. The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) officials met with the Clinical Executive Director of Mental Health Services on 7 May 2018. The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) met with members working at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) ward 4D regarding their current workload grievance. The continued flexing of currently funded beds from 19 to 29 is making staffing an extremely challenging task. This places more pressure on the senior nursing staff and dilutes the ability of casual nurses to be use in other areas.
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Tasmanian Branch), along with HACSU, will be holding a follow-up member meeting today at 1445 to discuss the proposed staffing model and the benchmarking that has been determined for the Department of Psychiatry (DoP). ANMF encouraged all members to attend to ensure that they can provide feedback on the proposed model and that this is accurately conveyed to senior management.
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Tasmanian Branch) attended a meeting with management and the ANMF Workplace Representative on 2A Surgical Unit. In this meeting, it was discussed that there has been increasing acuity and workloads and members feel that they need additional support on the unit. The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of 2A Surgical Unit has provided a written response to the questions outlined in the ANMF correspondence, and ANMF Southern Organiser Tristan Streefland held a member meeting on Wednesday the 16th of May at 1400 in the staff room on 2A Surgical to discuss the response.
