Public Sector Pay Increase Update

According to information forwarded from the Department of Health, members working in the public sector should now have received their salary increase of 2.35% and this should have appeared in your pay on 11 September 2019. Members will also receive a sign on bonus of up to $120. The amount will be based on the ordinary hours worked over the period of back pay (i.e. overtime is excluded). The back-payment of salary (of 2.1% back to 2 December 2018) and the sign on bonus will be paid on or before 23 October 2019.The pay office must calculate back payments for ALL health workers which is why the payment will be delayed. If you have any concerns or questions please contact our Member Support Team to discuss options.

Ad Hoc Payments Public Sector

Members working in the public sector are reminded that it is your responsibility to ensure sick leave certificates are provided when a timesheet is lodged.  The pay office is only authorised to pay you for sick leave if the required documentation is included (except for non-certified leave). If you are unable to drop your certificate into the workplace, you can take a photo or scan a copy and send it to your Nurse Unit Manager for inclusion with your timesheet. You can then submit your original documentation upon your return. Unfortunately, due to large numbers of people not complying with timesheet arrangements the pay office is increasingly reluctant to administer any ad hoc payments.

Updates are correct as of 18 September 2019.
