Mt St Vincent’s Nursing Home

The ANMF met with Members on 8 November 2019 to discuss Respect managements’ proposed change to the Nursing and Care Workers Staff roster.

The proposed change has resulted in all positions being  made ‘spill and fill’ where the a range of positions in a workplace are made redundant and the employees filling those positions must reapply for the smaller number of newly created positions. The ANMF have been informed that redundancies will apply. The ANMF have written to Respect management and requested a meeting for 14 November 2019 to raise Member concerns regarding this proposed change. Updates will be provided to Members as they come to hand.

The ANMF acknowledges the disappointment felt by Members that these changes are being proposed, despite a damning interim report from the current Aged Care Royal Commission detailing reduced staffing perpetuating issues around poor resident care.

Aged Care Deloraine

The ANMF met with Members on 30 October 2019 to discuss an offer from management regarding a new Enterprise Agreement for 2019 and 2020.

The offer is two-year rollover agreement, with a 3% increase to apply in July 2019 (already passed on) and July 2020, and no changes to the existing agreement clauses.

Members have given in principle support to this offer. The ANMF is currently working through drafting of the agreement. and anticipates that Aged Care Deloraine management will put the new agreement out to ballot before the end of the year. Further updates to follow.

Regis

The ANMF met with Members at Regis on 6 November 2019 to follow up on workplace concerns raised during previous meetings.

The ANMF will be scheduling further meetings to follow issues raised and discuss any developments. Details to follow.
