Public Sector Update

Last week the ANMF held mass member meetings across the state to update members on the progress of the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement. The ANMF met with Government officials of the negotiating team yesterday, Tuesday 26 November, it is anticipated that an offer will be forthcoming by the end of the week. In the absence of an offer, ANMF will return to members and seek direction on how to move forward.

A full response and update regarding the latest meeting and offers presented, will be given during mass members meetings in the first week of December. Members encouraged to attend these meetings to ensure they have the most accurate information available. You can view event details and download posters for your workplace here.

Please note that many of the other public sector unions have already received their offers. For those who are interested, these can be viewed here. This will give members an indication of the conditions and wages already presented by the Tasmanian Government to other state service employees.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ANMF will be in contact with public sector nurses and midwives once an offer is made. Ensure you have your worksite information and contact details up to date to ensure you receive the relevant correspondence. It is recommended that all members use a personal email, not their workplace email, as their preferred choice of communication from us. This will limit issues associated with firewalls blocking email resulting in failed communication. If you are reading this, please be sure to remind your colleagues. Updating your details is easy and can be done online here . You can also update your details by emailing enquiries@anmftas.org.au or phoning through to our membership team.
