Hobart Private Updates

Hobart Private Medical Ward

The ANMF met with members working at the Hobart Private Medical Ward on 16 December 2019. During this meeting, members raised various workplace concerns. Following this meeting, the ANMF sent formal correspondence to management with requested outcomes. The ANMF will schedule a member meeting once a response is received from management to gain feedback and form a response.

Hobart Private Emergency Department

The ANMF met with members working at the Hobart Private Emergency Department after concerns were raised around security and workload issues. A plan for members to address these concerns has been implemented and the ANMF will continue to monitor the situation on behalf of all members.

Hobart Clinic

The ANMF held a member meeting on 17 December 2019. Members were pleased to report that the new management team at Hobart Clinic have implemented a 5% wage increase with immediate effect. Members are satisfied with the progress, and management have indicated a commitment to proceed with the negotiations and have consequently released a time frame targeting completion and submission in March/April 2020.

Hampden Ward

The ANMF conducted a member meeting on 17 December 2019 where a number of individual matters were discussed. As the Healthscope Agreement expires in 2020, the ANMF will be following up with members soon about EA matters and planning.

Midlands Multi-Purpose Centre, Oatlands

The ANMF have sent formal correspondence to management raising concerns on behalf of members. To date, communications have not progressed a satisfactory solution to member concerns. Following further discussion with members, the ANMF have sent additional correspondence on their behalf to management requesting an independent party be sought to arbitrate at a meeting in order to conclude these issues in a manner acceptable to all parties. The ANMF will again consult with members following any response to this correspondence.
