Nurses and Midwives Public Sector Agreement Finalisation

The ANMF will meet with representatives of the Tasmanian State Sector Management office on Friday 7 February 2020, to progress drafting of the Public Sector Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement. Following this meeting, the ANMF will be in a position to provide more concrete timeframes on the likelihood of the Agreement being registered with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission and also on when payments of backpay should be completed.

Mental Health Workload Model Update

The ANMF are pleased to advise that clarification on queries related to the proposed mental health workload model calculation have now been resolved after ANMF officials met with the Executive Clinical Director for Mental Health, Adrienne Gibbons and Executive Director of Nursing Coral Paton. The ANMF have been given details on how the categories of care were assigned and what clinical data was used to inform this decision. The ANMF have requested that the process for determining staffing for mental health services now be formalised in the industrial workload model Nursing Hours per Patient Day to enable transparency and confidence that any future workload concerns of members can be addressed by the ANMF. The model will now be rolled out to Department of Psychiatry, Spencer Clinic, and Northside with significant additional staffing for all areas.
