NHpPD Working Group

The ANMF attended the second Nursing Hours per Patient Day Working Group (NHpPD) on 11 March 2020. This working group has been undertaking a significant body of work to update and align the NHpPD guiding Principles and all associated documents to ensure this is accurately capturing the workloads experienced by our members. Whilst the group is progressing, a significant body of work needs to occur prior to the next meeting in order to ensure that this work progresses in a timely way. The ANMF will consult with members once an agreement has been reached regarding any proposed updates or amendments.

Specialist Clinics Working Group

The ANMF attended the second meeting of the Specialist Clinics Working Group on 6 March 2020. This working group will be looking at developing a workload model that adequately ensures safe staffing levels in outpatients clinics in the Launceston General Hospital. There will now be a process of data collection, via time in motion studies, to ascertain the most significant areas of nursing workload. The ANMF recognise that, in the short term, this will place members under further workload pressure,  however we encourage all members to participate in collecting the data as this will form the basis of modelling. The ANMF will conduct report back members meetings in the future to address any questions members might have. The ANMF remain committed to finding a workload model that will ensure that our members are able to safely undertake their duties at work and not be constrained by workload pressures.

Updates correct as at 18 March 2020.
