Masonic Care Tasmania

Enterprise Agreement

The ANMF have received correspondence from Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT) that the four draft agreements that were due to be presented to ANMF for review on 13 March 2020, will not be received until 30 April 2020 due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The ANMF will correspond with MCT and request that they also update the agreements with a wage offer to be presented on 12 June 2020. Further updates in regards to this agreement will be sent via email.

General

The ANMF have been contacted by a MCT People and Culture representative regarding ANMF’s letter dated 11 March in relation to the underpayment for handover. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic MCT will not have a response to ANMF until 30 April 2020. A Further update will be provided once a response is received.

Respect

The ANMF met with Respect management via Zoom videochat, on 31 March 2020 to discuss their ongoing enterprise agreement. The ANMF formally presented the Log of Claims (LOC) at this meeting. A update was sent to members Wednesday 1 April, click here to read.

May Shaw Scottsdale Nursing

On Wednesday 18 March 2020, May Shaw management provided the ANMF with a draft enterprise agreement to review for nursing staff at Scottsdale. We are currently reviewing the terms of this agreement to determine if it is in line with negotiated outcomes. Further updates will be provided once this review is complete. The ANMF is expediting the review given long delays in the process to date.

May Shaw Swansea Nursing and General Staff

The ANMF are still pursuing May Shaw management for a date on when draft agreements will be received for these workplaces. Once we have more information, this will be communicated out to members.

Medea Park

On Friday 20 March 2020, the ANMF received a draft agreement from Medea Park. We have reviewed the draft and note that several existing agreement clauses have been amended and are not reflective of the negotiated outcome. The ANMF have written back to Medea Park requesting that amendments are made to the draft before presenting it to members and staff for a vote. Please see Newsflash for detailed update.

Tandara

The ANMF have been advised by Tandara’s CEO, that the first bargaining meeting to discuss a replacement General Staff agreement, scheduled for 1 April 2020, will now be delayed until mid-May due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ANMF have provided Tandara with a copy of the Log of Claims that was endorsed via a teleconference with members on 26 March. We will provide further updates once the first bargaining meeting has been held.

Eskleigh

On 13 March 2020, the ANMF received a draft nursing Agreement for review. The ANMF have review this document and provided a response back to management requesting details of when the agreement will be put out to vote.

Southern Cross Care

The ANMF have been contacted by members from Southern Cross Care (SCC) raising concerns regarding their employers response to the COVID-19 pandemic and more broadly the staff, client, community safety. Formal correspondence seeking clarity is in currently underway and the ANMF will be sending an update to members via email following a response back from SCC. At this time, the ANMF will also schedule a meeting to seek further direction from our members moving forward.

The EA negotiation meeting 20 Feb went relatively well. Southern Cross Care are offering a 2% pay rise to start from the ffpp 24 Feb, 2020. The ANMF have made it clear that this is a good start, but it is far from an acceptable pay rise. The ANMF thank the members who have decided to be part of the negotiation team, to help with getting the message out there to the members.

The meeting held in Launceston, March 10 yielded nothing new, and the next meeting will be held via telephone or video conferencing on either 16 or 17 April. Our negotiating team members have been notified, and ANMF will be communicating any changes to plans as they arise.

OneCare Rubicon Grove

The ANMF met with members from Rubicon Grove in March 2020, to discuss concerns raised regarding staffing levels, rosters and communication. Formal correspondence outlining member concerns will be sent to the employer. Once a response is received, we will communicate this back to members via email. At this time, we will also schedule a members meeting to seek direction on actions moving forward.

Corumbene

The ANMF Attended Negotiation meeting with Columbine Management on Wednesday 11 March. The ANMF member Log of claims that had been tabled at the previous meeting was discussed.

The outcome of the meeting was that Corumbene needed to undertake further modeling to table a wage offer or agree to any of ANMF members claims.

In regard to the ANMF Member Claims:

Wages, Penalties and Allowances

  • No wage increase was tabled at the meeting, Corrumbene management stated that they needed to further model other claims prior to tabling a wage offer
  • Allowances will be increased in line with any agreed wage increase
  • Casual loading – Corumbene has not agreed on an increase in casual loading at this stage
  • Weekend Penalty Rates – Corumbene has not agreed on an increase in weekend penalty rates at this stage
  • Afternoon and night shift- Corrumbene have agreed to review this claim and investigate financial modelling
  • Public holidays- It was stated that in increase to the public holiday rate was not affordable, however they will model the clause and provide a response next meeting
  • Leave Entitlements
  • Personal leave – No increase to Personal leave has been agreed to
  • Compassionate – No increase to Personal leave has been agreed to
  • Family Violence – Corumbene has not agreed on an increased in the number of paid days

Next meeting with Corumbene management was to be held on the 31st of March 2020, however this has been delayed due to the need for planning around the COVID-19 response. The ANMF will inform members of the date of the next negotiation when it is scheduled.

Menarock

The ANMF have received and reviewed Menarock’s response to the members Log of Claims and are currently in negotiations with members about Menarock’s offer. Members are concerned about some of the conditions within the EA and how they will be affected. Menarock employees have not received a pay rise since 1 Jan 2017.

Some of member concerns are as follows:

  • No paid maternity leave
  • No paid family and domestic violence leave
  • No back pay has been offered. Staff would consider taking a 2.5% pay increase if there was back pay (12 months)
  • And, long service leave entitlements were improved

The ANMF is also aware of members concerns about their contracted hours at Menarock, and encourage members who feel that they are being adversely affected to contact the ANMF.

Glenview

Glenview members should be aware that the ANMF is still waiting for a copy of their draft EA, before it can go out to ballot for our members to vote.
