Crisis Assessment Triage Team

On 27 April 2020, the ANMF wrote to Mental Health Services Management to raise concerns on behalf of our members in the North working as part of the Crisis Assessment Triage Team (CATT). These concerns were regarding matters related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Friday 1 May 2020, a response was received from the Secretary of the Department of Health. Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) have agreed to examine and determine options to provide additional cleaning resources . The following further outcomes were also agreed: CATT nurses can don and doff scrubs when assessing clients in the Emergency Department (ED) at the LGH,  contact their Clinical Lead or On Call Nurse if any issues are identified with social distancing when assessing clients in ED, CATT nurses should contact the LGH ED prior to attending to ensure they are advised of current protocols or changes to the environment, full-time staff will be allocated an individual desk space, and a larger van/minibus has been allocated to transport clients.

The ANMF understand that there are ongoing concerns that need to be addressed and we continue to advocate on your behalf. Any updates will be sent via email to CATT members.

Updates correct as at 27 May 2020.
