Roster Changes and Staffing Cuts

In submissions to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the ANMF have advocated that the current staffing pressures would be out of step with the Aged Care Quality Standards 3 and 4 in relation to clinical and personal care and services and support for daily living. Further, the ANMF submitted that if proposed roster changes went ahead, these workload pressures would only worsen and the ANMF would be left with no option but to make a complaint to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

As a result, the ANMF has been advised today that SCCT will not be proposing nor making any changes to its operational models and rosters at this time due to the current emerging COVID-19 risks. This is a welcomed response to the concerns highlighted by members and subsequently raised by the ANMF with the CEO.

The ANMF has further matters of concerns that remain unresolved and will again be writing to the CEO to have these matters dealt with. Advice will be provided to members at a local level when further information comes to hand.

Updates correct as at 31 July 2020.
