Casual Pool at the Royal Hobart Hospital

Over the past few months, the ANMF has been contacted by members stating that they would like to be able to join or continue on the Royal Hobart Hospital casual pool and accept some casual shifts on an ad hoc basis. However, it has been their belief that they must be available to work at least one shift a week.

The ANMF has since written to the Nurse Unit Manager of Pool questioning this and it has now been confirmed that there is no obligation to be available to work a shift a week but that, for the purposes of knowing who is available, nurses and midwives should advise the pool office if they are unavailable to work for a period of 6 weeks or longer.

If you have recently approached the pool and did not take an offer of employment up because you could not commit to working a shift a week, please try again. If you believe you are being required to commit to a certain number of shifts, please contact our Member Support Team so that we can follow this up on your behalf.

Updates correct as of 11 November 2020.
