Southern Cross Care Tasmania

Marys Grange

Southern Cross Care Tasmania continue the process of transferring residents and staff out of Marys Grange following in the lead up to the closure of the site. The ANMF will schedule a visit with members shortly to consult with them about this process and touch base on any concerns they may have.

Sandown Apartments

The ANMF are committed to progressing the issue of loss of care hours on behalf of members at Sandown. In the context of the loss of their Care Manager, ANMF recognise the increased need for support toward members, and we will look to visit soon. We encourage members to contact our Member Support Team if you have any concerns.

Rosary Gardens

The ANMF acknowledge the turnover of Care Managers at Rosary Gardens and welcome the Acting Care Manager. We are confident that with a fresh approach at Rosary Gardens, members issues will be addressed. We look forward to visiting members at the site soon, in the meantime, we encourage you to contact our Member Support Team if you have any concerns.

Fairway Rise

The ANMF met with members at Fairway Rise just prior to Christmas. We acknowledge a number of issues at the site, not least, the implementation of care and its effect on the overall Clinical Management role, along with staffing, and roster concerns. We have sought a meeting with senior management at the facility to allow members to provide Southern Cross Care Tasmania with an overview of matters. Keep an eye out for an email and text message with further meeting details.

Yaraandoo

The ANMF received a Change Proposal from Southern Cross Care Tasmania management detailing a drastic reduction in kitchen and survey rostered hours by 150 hours in one week. Whilst the ANMF do not represent members working in the proposed area directly affected by the change, we remain extremely concerned that such a significant reduction in hours will result in a flow on affect to our members providing direct patient care. With that in mind, the ANMF have sent formal correspondence seeking clarification as per the below:

• ANMF members involved in direct patient care will not be required to perform additional duties, namely serving meals and or clearing trays, or any alternative kitchen/servery duty because of the proposed change
• It is noted that members working in direct patient care hours do not have any additional time to complete alternative duties
