LEGAL ISSUES – including Coronial Inquests and disputed Workers Compensation matters

ANMF members are, if it is deemed necessary, eligible to obtain legal advice from an experienced legal practitioner as part of their membership. However, it is ESSENTIAL, that if you have been issued with a dispute about a worker’s compensation matter or have been called to provide evidence in a legal proceeding (relevant to your work) that you contact the ANMF as a matter of urgency so that we might seek advice on your behalf.

It is not reasonable to expect a busy legal practitioner to drop everything to address something that is due tomorrow and, more to the point, they are not always able to do so. The ANMF realise that being served with legal papers can be intimidating but ignoring (or delaying getting advice) will not make the matter go away.

If you have received documentation of a legal nature, please contact our Member Support Team or email membersupport@anmftas.org.au immediately once the document is received. It is helpful if you can attach a copy of any documentation you have received along with a brief summary of the issue or matter.
