ANMF and Aged Care – the union that fight for your workloads

Do you know that the ANMF is the only union in Tasmania employing nurses and care workers to represent members? We continually advocate for members in the aged care, private, and public sectors, raising workload concerns and holding management to account.

The ANMF is the only Union that has the experience and knowledge of your workplace because we are the only Union that employs nurses, midwives, and care workers to advocate for you. That is why our Organisers and Member Support Team are uniquely positioned to understand your experiences and adequately represent you in your workplace and offer sound industrial advice that is relevant to you. We understand your concerns because we have been there.

Anyone who tells you that the ANMF cannot advocate for your workloads, or that you have to change from the ANMF, is spinning a yarn. Do not trust someone who needs to lie in order to get you to change your allegiance to a professional organisation.

We stand in solidarity with marginalised communities and against classism, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, queerphobia, transphobia, racism, ableism and ageism. We have zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment and abuse.

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the Traditional Custodians of this land. We acknowledge the determination and resilience of the Palawa/Pakana people of Lutruwita who have survived invasion and dispossession and continue to maintain their identity, culture, and rights.

We recognise that we have much to learn from Aboriginal people today, who represent the world’s oldest continuing culture and pay our sincere respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
