On Wednesday 7 July, the ANMF met with CHaPs members to discuss current workload concerns and the proposed staffing model. The ANMF is assessing members concerns and are awaiting on further information from management regarding the data that underpins the model. The ANMF has tentatively scheduled a member report back meeting for Wednesday 4 August.
Beaconsfield
The ANMF has sent correspondence to the Nursing director of Primary Health regarding the request roster system. The ANMF has requested that the roster return to a fixed roster. Where this is not possible, we have advised that a three-month rotational roster is preferred by members.
George Town Hospital
The ANMF received concerning reports regarding frequent overtime and double shifts at George Town District Hospital. We note that from this feedback, members are frequently responsible for filling unplanned sick leave at short notice – when they are on a shift. In several instances, nurses have had to stay back until a suitable oncoming replacement can be found. The ANMF has distributed a survey for all members to offer their feedback.
St Mary’s
The ANMF received a response from the Tasmanian Health Service (THS). The ANMF will now seek feedback from members as to their pattern of shift distribution over the coming months. The ANMF encourages all members to keep a record of financial loss (if any) they experience during the implementation of the District HiTS. This information will be provided to the THS for their consideration.
Updates correct as at 22 July 2021.
