Private Sector Updates – Statewide

Healthscope

The ANMF has received correspondence from Healthscope stating that they are keen to continue bargaining but they will not agree to a prescribed minimum number of Assistant in Nursing’s (AIN’s) to be written into the agreement. As such they are considering applying to Fair Work for assistance if this is not acceptable to members. Healthscope confirm that they are agreeing to the provisions in the July ballot around Rosters, Casual Conversion, and parental leave. Healthscope has indicated that they will be willing to have further discussions on the wages offer but want to resolve the issue of the AIN’s before determining a way to proceed to a deal.

Hobart Private Hospital Maternity Ward

The ANMF met with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and the Director of Nursing (DON) on 14 October 2021 to discuss the issues raised by members. Management have committed to addressing the issues of the doorbell and phone out of hours and will be speaking to staff on these issues. Discussion around issues of skill mix and agency staffing issues, on call roster and redeployment to other wards also took place. The ANMF will consult with members regarding this response.

Family Planning Tasmania (FPT)

FPT has offered a 2-year agreement, with a 2% wage increase per year over the 2 year agreement; 2 additional classifications – Enrolled Nurse level 2 and Lead Nurse level 4a; amendments to make the agreement compliant with the Fair Work Act 2009; an additional 5 days unpaid domestic violence leave (in addition to 3 days paid leave).
