Private Sector Updates

Healthscope

Hobart Private Hospital

The ANMF has visited members at Hobart Private Hospital to gauge reactions to Healthscope committing to employ Assistants in Nursing (AiN’s) in a casual pool. Members see this as a positive step to start addressing workload concerns, noting that the role is to help nurses and midwives and not to replace professional staff. The ANMF will attend the next Enterprise Agreement (EA) meeting when scheduled.

St Helen’s Hospital

The ANMF is holding a member meeting in the Dining Room on Thursday 25 November 2021 to update members on the EA and discuss any other issues.

Family Planning Tasmania (FPT)

The ANMF attended the EA meeting on Wednesday 17 November 2021 and contacted members about the 2.5% offer. This offer was agreeable, and feedback was given to FPT. FPT will now send the draft log of claims to the ANMF for review before being sent out to staff.

Calvary South

The ANMF is visiting both Lenah Valley and St John’s campuses to talk to members about any issues. The next Workload Consultative Committee meeting is being held on Monday 29 November 2021 from 1430-1530hrs in the boardrooms on both campuses and via zoom. Please contact your Organiser Jane Pond Jane.pond@anmftas.org.au if you would like to attend, particularly if you have submitted an internal Calvary Workload Form as these will be discussed at this forum. The ANMF reminds all members to submit a Calvary workload form for workload issues.

The ANMF will be conducting a two-week data collection period from Monday 29 November 2021 – Friday 10 December 2021 statewide and we encourage all members to commit to submitting ANMF workload forms.  Members are asked to report all workload concerns during this period so that we can accurately reflect the ongoing workload pressures at Calvary.

TasIVF

The ANMF attended an EA meeting on Wednesday 17 November 2021. TasIVF are still adamant that 2% per annum is the only wage offer on the table, but they may consider a 3-year agreement. TasIVF have agreed to the inclusion of a Post Graduate Certificate allowance subject to wording and advancement to an RN level 2 role is still under discussion with the ANMF to provide examples for consideration. The ANMF will write to TasIVF regarding a pandemic leave clause for consideration. The next EA meeting will be held on Wednesday 1 December 2021 and the ANMF will be consulting with members prior to this date.

Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS)

The ANMF has been visiting CHaPS at the main hubs for a meet and greet. More meetings are planned for Wednesday 1 December 2021 and early in January 2022. If you have any issues in the meantime, please contact Member Support: membersupport@anmftas.org.au

HealtheCare North West Private Hospital

On Thursday 11 November 2021, the ANMF attended the Joint Consultative Committee on behalf of members and sought answers to previously identified manual handling training concerns. HealtheCare management advises that as the manual handling is not meeting the needs of the nurses, practical education sessions and assessments, tailored to various groups, will be rolled out.

Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) Oncology – Medical Day Procedure Unit
