Public Sector Updates – North

Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

Holman Clinic

On Tuesday 23 November 2021, the ANMF met with members in the Holman Clinic to discuss the proposed benchmarking, current workload load pressures, skill mix and a plan for complete resolution of the workload concerns that are currently being overseen by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). Subsequently, the ANMF has now written to the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) detailing a plan for resolution, please click here for full update on the plan.

Emergency Department (ED)

On Wednesday 1 December 2021, the ANMF met with members in the LGH ED to discuss solutions and progress achieved via the urgent application process for the LGH ED at the TIC. Members are encouraged to complete the member survey regarding these solutions and a plan for moving forward. If tangible improvement gains have been made and, if directed by the member survey results, the ANMF will consider an option to place the matter into abeyance to allow for the solutions to be taken up. Click here to read the update.

Wards 3R, 4D and Northern Coronary Care Unit (NCCU)

The ANMF has received a response from the THS in relation to questions and concerns of members with the proposed change for COVID preparedness, 3R, 4D and NCCU. Click here to read the update.

Northside

The ANMF has secured an additional outcome regarding the Step 1 workload grievance for Northside. Mental Health Services have agreed to re-benchmark against the new model utilising current observation data. The previous benchmark was based off 2018 data. The ANMF understands that this should see an increase in full time equivalent (FTE) nurses for Northside. Click here to read the full update.

Updates correct as at 9 December 2021.
