ANMF Newsflash: LGH ED Member Survey

A report back conference was held at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission on 17 January 2022 whereby proposed options from ANMF members to address the immediate staffing crisis in LGH ED were explored.

Prior to the border opening on 15 December 2021, the ANMF consulted with members in regard to the skill mix and what category of nursing staff would be required to support workloads and safe staffing. At that time, members requested that vacant positions be filled with registered nurses and this still remains the intent by THS management.
However, due to the existing staffing pressures being experienced by members in ED, a range of options were proposed for consideration to assist as interim strategy to relieve ongoing and sustained workload pressures.

One of these proposals was deploying experienced enrolled nurses to the ED to assist with workload pressures, in the absence of any other registered nurses being available in the short term to assist with the current staffing crisis.

The ANMF seeks your feedback and invites you to have your say by clicking on the link below. The survey will be open until close of business Thursday 20 January 2022.
