North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The ANMF, Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management and Intensive Care nurses attended a benchmarking meeting on Tuesday 11 January 2022. A majority of ANMF members voted to endorse the benchmarking. Click here to read more.

Surgical Ward

The ANMF, THS management and Surgical Ward nurses attended a benchmarking meeting on Monday 17 January 2022. ANMF members subsequently formally endorsed the benchmarking by a majority vote. Click here to read more.

Rosebery Community Health Centre (RCHC)

The ANMF met with members at Rosebery Community Health Centre on Tuesday 25 January 2022. At this stage the THS has been unable to secure additional staff to roster a return to a 24-hour service at RCHC leaving members with concerns about lack of safe staffing, skill mix and other matters.  A formal notification is in process to THS management and members will be kept in touch with progress either by emails or further meetings.

Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) – Medical Day Procedure and Oncology

ANMF officials will be onsite to meet with members on Monday 21 February 2022 at 1530hrs to discuss the recent benchmarking. Come along and have your say.

North West Cancer Centre

Mersey Community Hospital (MCH)

The Close Observation Unit (COU) & Medical Ward 12 Hour Shift Proposal

The ANMF received a Change proposal for consultation from THS management on Friday 28 January 2022. The proposal outlines the short-term implementation of 12-hour shifts as an interim safe staffing strategy to support the Pandemic response. The ANMF will review the proposal and provide advice to members of their entitlements should they elect to move to 12-hour shifts. Keep an eye on your email for updates and the opportunity to have your say. A note from North West Community Engagement Officer Nicki Hood

The past few weeks have seen Nicki dropping into Aged Care facilities along the North West coast visiting members in the workplace. She also got the chance to spend time in the Rooke Street Mall speaking to members of the community about the ANMF Aged Care campaign, and she reported that it was so encouraging to hear from members of the Devonport community who overwhelmingly support the need for a change in Aged Care. “It’s not too much to ask” postcards were handed out and signed by community members.
