Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT)

Ongoing changes to leadership at SCCT

The ANMF has been advised that, yet another Facility Manager has resigned from SCCT! The ANMF notes that members at Rosary Gardens, Guilford Young Grove and Fairway Rise are currently working without a permanent Facility Manager.

The ANMF encourages members to feedback issues related to absence or instability of leadership in SCCT sites, especially in Human Resources matters, and members are encouraged to look after themselves and their colleagues in these unreasonable situations. Use internal SCCT reporting systems, if you can, to highlight the impact on your workload and morale.

SCCT Changes to Servery and Catering

The ANMF has been made aware these changes continue to impact on members, staff, and residents. We encourage members to let us know how these changes are affecting your role. SCCT claims that they have provided the means for staff to provide feedback via a Survey Monkey link. Let us know if this link is accessible, or if there are any other means you require to enable you to feedback your concerns.

Sandown Apartments

On Tuesday 2 March 2022, the ANMF met with the Facility Manager, on members behalf, to discuss concerns about roster and staffing issues. Management has successfully recruited more permanent staff, providing greater certainty for the roster. This will be discussed at the next staff meeting. The ANMF will return to consult with members about the changes and their impact once they have been put in place.    

Other Residential Aged Care Facility sites including Enterprise Agreements

Huon Regional Care

The ANMF advises members that Enterprise Negotiation meetings will commence soon with the date for the (postponed) first meeting now being Friday 1 April 2022. The ANMF will send out any updates via a newsflash once a date is known.

QV Care

Members indicated a willingness to accept the EA offer and withdraw their request for more backpay, while the ANMF has agreed to work with members to try to improve workloads. The new Agreement includes a workload clause that should allow members to engage more closely with management on this. The ANMF have asked QV Care management to explain how that clause will be implemented in practice.

Regis

The ANMF recently met with Regis and the Service Industry Advisory Group (SIAG) to further discuss the Enterprise Agreement. The ANMF modelling has shown that the current EBA offer from Regis is worth very little to members, when reduced penalties and allowances are factored into the wage offer. The ANMF looks forward to a response from SIAG and Regis regarding this. Members will be consulted further once this response has been received. Look out for a text with meeting day and time soon.

Glenview

The ANMF has contacted Glenview’s People and Culture Manager and provided your Log of Claims.  We are awaiting a date for the commencement of discussions for a new Enterprise Agreement.

Korongee Village, (Glenview)

Management has agreed to meet with ANMF members about concerns. Once a response is available, we will schedule a member meeting time and date so please keep an eye on your emails.

Primary Health – Eastern Shore Community Nursing (ESCN)

The ANMF is pleased that following endorsement of members the grievance at ESCN has been closed. We thank members for their advocacy and support in achieving positive outcomes for themselves and their colleagues.

Midlands Multi-Purpose Centre, Oatlands

The ANMF welcome the new Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) at Oatlands. We look forward to working with members toward overall better conditions at Oatlands, especially with roster and staffing arrangements.

Respect Mt St Vincent

The ANMF, on behalf of members from Mt St Vincent, has formally raised workload concerns with your employer. Further member meetings will be held once a response is received, watch for the invite in your inbox.
