Private Sector Updates – Statewide

Calvary South

Lenah Valley Endoscopy Unit

The ANMF has been given an update on the current situation on the unit. Calvary states it has been providing education and support from Theatre and is continuing to advertise for staff. The next meeting update will be on Thursday 19 May 2022 from 1800-1700hrs.

If members have any concerns regarding the Unit, please contact Member Support via membersupport@anmftas.org.au

Lenah Valley Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF would be interested in hearing from members regarding the situation in ED since the closure of the Department at the weekends. If members would like to inform us of the current situation, or have any issues, please contact Member Support via membersupport@anmftas.org.au

Lenah Valley Maternity Ward

The ANMF has been informed of the excessive workloads on the Maternity ward and has sent a workload survey to members to gain an insight into the workloads members face every day. The survey will be open until 09.00 Thursday 28 April 2022. Please fill in the survey to have your say, so that the ANMF can gauge the extent of the workload issues on Maternity.

Lenah Valley and St John’s

Members have notified the ANMF that the RATs that were promised by Public Health to every nurse and midwife have not been received. The ANMF questioned Calvary management regarding the lack of RATs and were assured that they have been distributed to Nurse Unit Managers (NUMs) in each department. Members are encouraged to contact their NUM in the first instance if they have not received them. If they have any problem with obtaining them, members should contact Leah Magliano to have them provided.

Calvary Northern Hospitals

The ANMF represented Calvary at the recent Workload Consultative Committee meeting. As there were some delays relaying updates on workloads for members at Calvary St Vincent’s, the ANMF has written to Calvary formally with a number of recommendations. The ANMF will continue to update members on workloads.

Updates correct as at 14 April 2022.
