Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

Ward 4O/B

The ANMF met with ward 4O/B members on Monday 23 May to discuss the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) response to the Step 1 Grievance raised on behalf of members. Members continued to report workloads related to shortages of midwives and as a result have endorsed elevating to a Step 2 Grievance. This will now be progressed. Further member updates to follow.

Ward 5D

The ANMF had planned a meeting with members on Ward 5D for Wednesday 25 May, however, due to the COVID-19 outbreak the meeting was cancelled. A re-scheduled meeting will occur shortly.

Ward 3D

The ANMF is meeting with Ward 3D members on Thursday 26 May. At the time of this communication a meeting had not occurred. Going into the meeting the ANMF understood concerns to be related to short staffing, skill mix overtime and double shifts. Further member updates will follow.

Ward 5A

The ANMF is meeting with Ward 5A members on Friday 27 May. At the time of this communication a meeting had not occurred. Going into the meeting ANMF understood concerns to be related to short staffing, skill mix overtime and double shifts. Further member updates will follow.
