Public Sector Updates – North West

North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)

Emergency Department (ED) – Step 2 Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) Grievance

The ANMF, on behalf of members at NWRH ED, attended a specialist panel meeting to seek solutions to the Step 2 Workload Grievance on Thursday 7 July 2022.  Since then, the ANMF has been advised that the business case to fund clinical facilities of the department has been approved; whilst this is good news it does not fully address the workload concerns. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The ANMF has received confirmation that the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) 2021 Benchmarking business case has been approved.  The positions that will be added to the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) provide a resolution to the Step 1 Grievance. Mersey Community Hospital (MCH)

Emergency Department (ED)

NWRH & MCH

Clinical Facilitators Business Case Approved

The ANMF has received confirmation that the Clinical Facilitators Business Case for NWRH and MCH has been approved.

  • MCH Emergency Department – on going funding
  • NWRH Emergency Department – ongoing funding
  • NWRH Medical – approved until April 2023
  • NWRH Surgical – approved until April 2023
  • MCH Medical Ward – approved for 12 months
