Emergency Department (ED)

On Friday 12 August 2022, the ANMF met with LGH ED members and discussed concerns with ANMF representatives for a plan to close four beds on 5D for two weeks to allow some respite for 5D staff who have been working significant amounts of Overtime and Double Shifts. The ANMF has listened to members in ED and will now take the matter back to our 5D members for further consultation and will work up a plan to ensure THS Management are accountable for ensuring safe staffing for both ED and 5D. This process may include referring the matter to Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). Read the attached newsflash for a full report.
