Public Sector Updates – South
Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)
Repatriation Centre – Peacock 1
The ANMF has formally submitted to the Office of the Executive Director of Nursing (EDON) (Tasmanian Health Service South) for a formal review of the Nurse Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) Benchmarking as relates to the geriatric/palliative split model of care currently employed within Peacock 1. The ANMF’s submission centres on the idea that the palliative care beds should be Benchmarked in consistency with those on Whittle Ward (i.e., Category A beds). The THS has taken this on notice and the ANMF will keep members updated regarding the progress of this venture as necessary via Newsflashes, including advice of any/all prospective meetings on the subject.
Neonatal Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU)
The ANMF continues to await contact from THS management regarding a meeting to finalise arrangements regarding Benchmarking and ratification of the NPICU service against the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) standards for intensive care nursing. Contact has been made as recently as Friday 12 August 2022 to reiterate the urgency of this work and the THS has since responded to acknowledge their shared desire to complete the work and that a meeting invite is to be forthcoming.
Change Proposals
The ANMF has been in receipt of 2 separate Change Proposals pertaining to RHH Perioperative Services. These documents will be compiled into a separate Newsflash and sent directly to all relevant members inviting comment/feedback as warranted via our Member Support Team via email at membersupport@anmftas.org.au
Updates correct as at 18 August 2022.
