Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF wishes to invite members working in the RHH – Emergency Department to a member meeting being held on Friday 2 September 2022 at 1400hrs in the EMU-J Meeting Room. This meeting will serve to discuss latest developments in the public sector campaign as well as to take all current feedback regarding general nursing conditions within the Department. Prospective members also welcome.

Outpatient Oncology (Ward 8A)

The ANMF held a member meeting for those working in the RHH – Outpatient Oncology on Thursday 1 September 2022 at 0830hrs in the 8A Meeting Room. This meeting served to discuss latest developments in the ongoing Step Two workplace Grievance as well as the now ratified Change Proposal regarding Clinical Governance within Oncology Services.

Repatriation Centre – Peacock 1

The ANMF has received advice from the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) that members’ concerns regarding the current Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) Benchmarking for Peacock 1, as well as suggestions that this be urgently reviewed, would need to await completion of the ongoing statewide project aiming to redress perceived deficiencies within NHpPD process and resource structures being led by the office of the Chief Nurse and Midwife. The ANMF has since written again to advise that whilst supportive of this project it is unwilling to accept it as rationale for delay if and when serious NHpPD concerns arise and as such we would be seeking to stipulate to the existing frameworks for the sake of urgent remedy until such time as the new protocols have been formally instated. The ANMF awaits a response from the Office of the Executive Director of Nursing (EDON).

Statewide Mental Health Service (SMHS)– Roy Fagan Centre

The ANMF is excited to hear that the new Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) position at Roy Fagan Centre (which came to fruition as a component of the requested outcomes from our 2021 Step Two Grievance process) has recently been appointed. Furthermore, we are advised that the temporary 8-hour positions associated with the same Grievance process have been added to the establishment permanently. We welcome all member feedback regarding these and any other workplace concerns/considerations via the Member Support Team at membersupport@anmftas.org.au
