Close Observation Unit 12 hour shifts Change Proposal
The ANMF attended the formal change proposal for 12 hour shifts meeting presented on Thursday 24 November 2022, then met with ANMF members at a consultation and feedback meeting on Monday 5 December 2022. Close Observation Unit members endorsed the change proposal be progressed.
Operating Theatre Change Proposal
The ANMF has provided the following feedback to the change proposal. ANMF members’ main concern remains the flow management of the Day Surgery Unit (DSU) part of the theatre. The compromise that the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in the DSU will be indirect, and the additional ANUM hours of 0.41 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) will be used to support the DSU. A review of the leadership structure will be undertaken post the new build and at that time the “grade” for the indirect ANUM should form part of that review. On that basis, ANMF members support the change proposal be progressed.
Updates correct as at 7 December 2022.
