Andrew Brakey Awards 2023

The ANMF welcome applications and nominations for the inaugural ANMF Andrew Brakey Awards.

These awards are designed to recognise excellence in practice and innovation with a $2000 prize to put towards further professional development for the applicant’s future learning and career progression.

Awards will be presented to successful applicants from the Public Sector, Private Sector and Aged Care Sector in Tasmania.

Tips for applicants

Please be as descriptive as possible in your responses to address each point in the question.

Headings and subheadings can be used in your application to help address each point. We encourage applicants to use the maximum character limit (2,500 characters / approximately 800 words) for each answer.

Applications will be assessed using the following criteria:

  1. INNOVATION & EXCELLENCE
What aspects of the nominees practice (current or planned) show innovation and/or excellence, and how innovation and excellence in their practice is applied (or could be applied) to improve the quality of patient care.
  2. IMPACT & USE
If successful, how will the funds be used? What is the potential impact of receiving the award to those in the nominee’s care, their team, or more broadly, Tasmanian healthcare. Give specific examples.

Key dates

Nominations are now closed.

Nominees will be notified shortly, with the winners announced at the 2023 Andrew Brakey Awards & Dinner Thursday 29 June 2023.

Registrations for this year’s Annual Delegates Conference are open. We encourage all ANMF Workplace Representatives to come along on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 June. The conference will be a great opportunity to network and learn from industry leaders.
