Public Sector Updates – North West

Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF on behalf of members at the MCH ED met with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management and your ANMF Workplace Representative on Wednesday 14 June 2023. The meeting was to discuss the responseabout the workload and safe staffing concerns raised including the develop and trial a “matrix” document or similar that would support clinical decision making with regards to safe staffing. North West Regional Hospitals Masterplan

On Friday 9 June 2023, the ANMF Tasmanian Branch Secretary Emily Shepherd and North West Organiser Annette Beechey attended a meeting where the North West Regional Hospitals Infrastructure Masterplan was outlined. ANMF members are eager to understand the next stage of the project and the associated consultation process. Members consider it critical that clinical nurse and midwife representation are involved in the next stage of the master planning. Once the next stage is identified and the consultation strategy announced, the ANMF will inform members via a newsflash and meetings to ensure members feedback is heard. North West Satellite Renal Unit

The ANMF met with members at North West Satellite Renal Unit on Thursday 15 June 2023, where members raised workload concerns. The ANMF on behalf of members raised a Step 1 Grievance with the response expected by close of business Monday 3 July 2023. View the latest ANMF newsflash.

North West Regional Hospital Theatre Workload Grievance Update

The next step in the process is for ANMF members to consider whether the response and subsequent changes instigated since the grievance was raised has addressed concerns. The ANMF has sought feedback via survey monkey. Results will be collated, and members direction will be followed.
