Nominate an aged care worker

THANK YOU…

TO ALL AGED CARE WORKERS

Aged Care Employee Day celebrates the more than 427,000 residential care, home care and retirement living staff who care for over 1.5 million older Australians. The annual #ThanksforCaring campaign recognises the countless roles in the aged care workforce – from nurses to personal care workers, allied health professionals to lifestyle  coordinators, hospitality teams, drivers, cooks, cleaners, administration staff and so many others.

While expressions of gratitude are certainly appreciated, what holds utmost significance for care workers is their ability to deliver exceptional quality care to their patients and clients.

In the upcoming year, it is imperative that we move beyond mere words of appreciation for aged care workers and instead focus on providing them with the necessary resources to ensure the safety and well-being of our older Australians.

The ANMF has tirelessly advocated for Mandated Ratios, round-the-clock Registered Nurse (RN) coverage,
a 15% wage increase for Ahed Care Workers through the Fair Work Commission and greater transparency in the allocation of Federal Government Funds. However, our efforts cannot cease, and as a community, we must persist in making aged care a top priority.

Each and every one of us will, at some point in our lives, rely on the care provided by aged care workers, be it for ourselves or our loved ones. It is crucial that we take immediate action to guarantee their ability to care for us when the need arises in the future.

Nominate an ANMF member who you would like to acknowledge for their service as an aged care worker and they could WIN* 2x Adult Cruise Tickets thanks to PENNICOTT WILDERNESS JOURNEYS!

*Terms and Conditions apply. Nominations closed Midnight, 31 August 2023. Winners will be contacted to arrange collection of the prize! Keep an eye on @ANMFTas socials for announcements!
