Private Sector Updates – Statewide

Statewide

Calvary Health Care Tasmania

The ANMF has made an application to the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for a Protected Action Ballot (PAB) order. Please ensure that your member details are up to date (email and mobile phone) including your workplace so that you will be able to vote in the Ballot. 50% of those on the list (employer/union) held by the Ballot Agency must vote and more than 50% of those voting must vote yes, for the Ballot to succeed.

The protected action ballot is open and will close on Wednesday 16 August 2023. The ANMF encourages all members to vote yes to all questions to support each other.  Voting ‘yes’ does not mean the action has to be taken, it simply means that members can elect to take the action.

North

Calvary Aged Care

The ANMF continues to negotiate for a replacement Enterprise Agreement (EA). Calvary has delayed discussing the wage offer until the next round of meetings which are due to take place the week commencing 14 August 2023. Once this has occurred, the ANMF will hold onsite member meetings to discuss the latest offer.

Calvary Health Care Tasmania – Lenah Valley and St John’s Hospitals

As noted above, the Protected Action Ballot (PAB) is now open for members to vote on taking industrial action regarding the EA negotiations. Calvary has refused to look at how to improve workloads by considering any form of ratio model. The PAB is open from Wednesday 9 August 2023 to Wednesday 16 August 2023. The ANMF has been onsite on Thursday 10 August 2023 (today) at St John’s and Lenah Valley to answer any questions, or alternatively contact Jane Pond via email at Jane.Pond@anmftas.org.au

Calvary Lenah Valley Perioperative Services

The ANMF met with members in Theatre and Recovery on Wednesday 2 August 2023 at 0700hrs to discuss the EA negotiations and other issues. The ANMF understand it can be difficult to leave the department to attend meetings during the day and is happy to schedule regular meetings at 0700 hours if required. Alternatively, concerns can be raised directly to Organiser Jane Pond via email at Jane.Pond@anmftas.org.au.

Updates correct as at 9 August 2023.
