North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)

Medical Ward, Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Medical C (Med C)

The ANMF met with members on Wednesday 23 August 2023, to discuss workload concerns on the Medical Ward, AMU and Med C. Members concerns are essentially the same as those previously raised both at Step 2 meetings and in subsequent correspondence and meetings dating back to October 2022. ANMF members endorsed the ANMF to notify the THS in writing of continuing workload concerns and request a written response, as previous meetings of the Step 2 Grievance Specialist Panel outcomes continued to be delayed. Should a timeframe for implementation of solutions that resolve the workload and skill mix concerns of members not be forthcoming, members unanimously endorsed the ANMF to raise the matter to a ‘Step 3’, in accordance with Appendix C of the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013. Please see the latest update here.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The ANMF met with ICU members on Friday 1 September 2023, to discuss professional and industrial concerns. ICU members raised a number of workload concerns and subsequently endorsed the ANMF to formally raise those concerns with THS management.
