Private Sector Updates – Statewide
Statewide
Australian Red Cross Lifeblood
Following a second mass online members meeting on Sunday 15 October 2023, Lifeblood members passed a series of 5 motions that endorsed the ANMF to continue bargaining in good faith with your employer. If Red Cross do not provide satisfactory answers at the bargaining meeting on Friday, then the ANMF will seek to formally raise Industrial Action with the Fair Work Commissioner. Please ensure your workplace details are up-to-date so you do not miss this opportunity to have your voice heard. Northern Organiser Nicki Hood will be in your workplace this week.
North
Calvary Health Care Tasmania North
The ANMF applauds its members for continuing Industrial Action and note that following the last bargaining meeting on Tuesday 3 October 2023, Calvary requested an extension so they could put forward a workload clause for employees to consider. ANMF members maintain that a minimum staffing clause is the only acceptable solution to address the ongoing chronic understaffing in wards and theatres in all Calvary Health Care campuses. Once the ANMF is in receipt of the Workload clause a member meeting will be booked so members can discuss and endorse the next actions they want the ANMF to make on their behalf. If you would like to be involved with these discussions, please visit your ANMF member portal, and ensure you have selected to receive email correspondence from the ANMF. If you have any workload concerns, please contact Northern Organiser Nicki Hood via email at Nicki.Hood@anmftas.org.au.
South
Calvary Health Care Tasmania (CHCT) South – Lenah Valley and St John’s Hospitals
The ANMF congratulate members on the ‘Stop Work’ meeting held on Wednesday 18 October 2023 at Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital. Calvary are still not providing the ANMF with a workload model of care to review and take to members. Members are continuing to take Industrial Action across the state to show Calvary that they are not satisfied with what has been offered so far.
Updates correct as at 18 October 2023.
