Southern Cross Care Inc. Tas

The ANMF are aware of a query regarding the 3% wage increase which was due in December 2023. The ANMF has contacted Southern Cross Care Inc. Tas (SCCT) for comment, once we have received a reply we will notify members via a newsflash communication. Members are reminded that if you believe your wages are incorrect to approach your Payroll Department in the first instance before contacting the ANMF Member Support Team for a review.

Toosey Aged Care

The ANMF were concerned to hear of reports of workplace issues. Members are encouraged to report alleged substandard care to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

ANMF Officials, on behalf of members, have raised workload concerns with senior management. A response is expected by Monday 12 February 2024. The ANMF is committed to ensuring that members’ professional and industrial entitlements are upheld. Keep an eye on your inbox for updates.

Aged Care Visits

ANMF Member Engagement Officer, Kathy, continues to visit Aged Care sites across the coast to distribute flyers promoting the Aged Care Excellence Awards for 2024, which allows us to recognise the wonderful care provided by our Care Workers, Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses.

The ANMF has site visits to Eliza Purton and Mount St Vincent Aged Care Facilities this week. An Enterprise Agreement (EA) meeting will be held at Tandara Lodge, and Log of Claims (LoC) meetings will be held at Umina Park and Rubicon Grove on Tuesday 13 February 2024. Please do not hesitate to contact Kathy via email at Kathryn.Jarvis@anmftas.org.au if you wish to arrange a catch up or meeting at your site.

Also, we have the Tasmanian Aged Care Conference held in Hobart on Wednesday 15 May 2024, Early Bird registrations are open now, and for those that register early you can go into the draw to win a hamper valued at $200. Conference flyers with the QR code to register have been distributed across aged care sites, so make sure you scan, check out the details and register your spot.

Salvation Army Barrington Lodge

The ANMF attended a staff meeting on Wednesday 7 February 2024 where management has put forward the new Organisational changes. All staff will be informed in writing of these changes. Enrolled Nurses (ENs) will be scheduled a meeting with management. The ANMF is happy to support any members that would like the ANMF present at these meetings. Further details will be communicated to members via a newsflash communication soon.
