Staff profile: Thomas Flynn, Member Support Officer

Tom Flynn, Member Support Officer, completed his Bachelor of Nursing at Griffith University in 2008.
He then completed a grad program in the Emergency Department at the QEII Hospital in Brisbane continuing to work there for several years.
After trying out a few different specialties in part-time and casual roles, Tom started working as a Medical Imaging Nurse with QLD X-Ray in 2012. In 2014 he moved to Singapore where he continued working in the Medical Imaging specialty at National University Hospital until he moved to Hobart with his wife in 2019 where he commenced work at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Tom also has several years of experience in Mental Health Nursing. He feels strongly that nurses, midwives and carers should have a much greater voice in our health systems and since joining Member Support has enjoyed the opportunity to advocate for the rights and entitlements of his fellow members in those professions.
