Transfer of Care Roundtable

The ANMF attended a roundtable convened by the Minister of Health on Wednesday 24 April 2024 with respect to the Transfer of Care Procedure. The ANMF raised the ongoing frustration of members regarding the lack of consultation, acknowledgement of the impacts and concerns that the Transfer of Care Procedure was likely to have on their practice and safety, as well as their patients along with the fact that no additional resources have been committed to support nursing and midwifery staff. The ANMF indicated that should appropriate resource implementation and re-benchmarking, in conjunction with the ANMF for Emergency Departments, and safety assessments not occur, then the ANMF would seek further intervention by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission.

Payroll Concerns

The ANMF has further meetings planned with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) senior management to seek resolutions to the ongoing payroll concerns experienced by many of our members. The ANMF will continue to advocate to ensure that members are paid all of their worked entitlements on their pay date on a regular and reoccurring basis. The ANMF thank members who have completed the survey and provided details, working together we will achieve outcomes for all members.

Department for Education, Children and Young People Nurses

Workplace Representatives have contacted the ANMF requesting support to review classifications of school-based nurses, considering the current program has been active for 10 years. The ANMF will shortly be calling school-based nurses to come together to discuss classifications and Statement of Duties (SoD). If you need to update your member details to reflect your current employer, please do so asap via your member portal so you do not miss the meeting invitation.

Updates are correct as of 1 May 2024.
