Aged Care Updates – Statewide

North

Calvary Aged Care

Members have reported that Calvary Aged Care will now employ medication endorsed personal care workers who will take over delivering medication to residents. The ANMF finds this short sighted and a clear undermining of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care which strongly urged providers to strengthen the clinical care provided to residents. It must be noted that both Calvary Aged Care sites do not meet their minimum mandated care minute targets, as reported on the My Aged Care website, and employing unregulated workers to deliver what should be clinical duties will not address the chronic shortfall in care provided to residents in aged care facilities.

Updates are correct as of 24 July 2024.
