Public Sector Updates – North

Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

Emergency Department (ED)

ANMF members at the LGH ED have achieved a significant win as a part of their ongoing Code Yellow action. Members have successfully secured the 2021 additional 21.3 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions on top of the 2024 benchmarked hours. Previously Tasmanian Health Service (THS) North would not agree to this proposal. Read the full update.

ED Important Meeting

On Friday 4 October 2024, the ANMF will be meeting with LGH ED members to discuss proposed staffing changes, which include the application of 21.3 FTE in addition to the 2024 benchmarking. The proposed changes would see base staffing levels increase from

  • AM: 22 to AM 26
  • PM: 25 to PM 28
  • ND: 21 to ND 24.

Further details will be discussed at the meeting, so please attend for more information.

John L Grove (JLG) and Ward 3R Benchmarking Update

The ANMF will meet with JLG members on Tuesday 15 October 2024 and Ward 3R members on Wednesday 16 October 2024, to gather feedback on these proposed changes.
