Maternity Review Update Commencement and Process

The ANMF has met with the independent review team who have provided an update on the process that the review will undertake over the course of the 12-week review period. View the latest update.

Maternity Review Update Confidentiality

Further to the newsflash outlining the process for the Midwifery Services Review, the ANMF wish to reassure members that their participation will be entirely confidential, and members should have confidence to participate freely.

As previously advised, if members do wish to have an ANMF representative present when they meet with the review team you are welcome to, please reach out to our Member Support Team if you do wish to have support. Alternatively, staff can provide feedback to the review team via the email address maternityreview@health.tas.gov.au which will only be accessed by the review team.

Patient Transfer Procedure Revoked

The ANMF intervened to secure an immediate retraction of the ‘’communication and patient transfer process between the Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient units’’ procedure. This procedure represents a significant departure from standard operating procedure and was implemented without essential consultation with frontline staff.

The ANMF will now begin a consultation process with the department and invites all members to provide feedback regarding this procedure. Your input is important in ensuring it meets the needs of those directly involved in patient care.

Feedback can be provided to the Member Support Team via email at membersupport@anmftas.org.au.

Updates are correct as of 30 October 2024.
