Aged Care Updates – Statewide

Statewide

Anglicare

Parties are still waiting for Anglicare to provide a draft agreement to review, ANMF has written to the employer requesting this be provided as soon as practicable.

May Shaw Health Services

The first meeting has been held to discuss negotiations for a replacement agreement. The ANMF is preparing a Log of Claims (LoC) survey which we request members to give their full attention to. If you are passionate about advocating for your fellow colleague’s workplace entitlements and would like to be a part of the negotiation team, please let your ANMF Organiser know so an invitation to the meetings can be arranged. If you are a workplace delegate, then these meetings can be arranged to be in work time hours.

North

Medea Park Residential Care

Parties met to discuss further claims, one being the handover from one shift to another and the payment for this clinical requirement, Medea Park want to understand the functions of the handover and who exactly are undertaking this. The ANMF expressed members sediment that a clinical hand over is critical in providing quality care to residents. Before bargaining parties meet again ANMF Northern Organiser Nicki Hood will be visiting the workplace next Monday 24 March 2025 at 1300hrs, your attendance at this meeting is encouraged.

Aged Care Deloraine

Following a lengthy delay your employer has resumed talks to finalise a replacement agreement. Aged Care Deloraine has reconsidered their wage offer to 3% effective First Full Pay Period (FFPP) 1 July 2025 or the Fair Work wage decision, whichever is greater. A final survey has been developed for members, this should arrive via email this week. The ANMF is seeking members feedback on the offer to date and encourage members to complete the survey as soon as you receive it.

North West

Baptcare Karingal

Following the hearing with Fair Work Commission all parties met last week in an attempt to finalise an agreement. The ANMF has worked hard to secure a fair and decent wage offer for all members, we have also written to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission to highlight the concerns members have raised when it came to short staffing, and unfilled rostered shifts. We continue to advocate for members to feel safe within the workplace. An ANMF organiser will be at Baptcare Karingal this Thursday 20 March 2025, to meet with members, and to discuss the offer to date. Your attendance is encouraged. View the latest update.

Glenview Community Services

The ANMF attended a meeting on Wednesday 12 March 2025 to engage in discussions on shift times in the Waratah Unit. We discussed the successful temporary addition of a 4-hour home companion shift each afternoon. Positive feedback has led management to consider making this shift permanent, which the ANMF would welcome. View the latest update.

Updates are correct as of 19 March 2025.
