
Andrew Brakey Awards 2025
The ANMF invites applications and nominations for the annual ANMF Andrew Brakey Awards.
The ceremony for the awards will be held on Thursday evening 26 June 2025 at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston.
These awards have been designed for the nursing and midwifery teams in public, private, and aged care sectors in Tasmania with the purpose of recognising outstanding achievement and investing in future learning and career growth.
If you or someone you know may be eligible, we encourage you to apply or nominate today.
Finalists will be honoured at the Andrew Brakey 2025 Awards night (Thursday 26 June 2025), with three winners being announced on the evening and receiving $2,000 each towards their careers in healthcare.
Tips for Applicants
Please be as descriptive as possible in your responses to address each point in the question.
Headings and subheadings can be used in your application to help address each point. We encourage
applicants to use the maximum character limit (2,500 characters / approximately 800 words) for each answer. Criteria/Eligibility: Nominees must be a nurse, midwife or care worker employed in the public, private or aged care sectors in Tasmania. ANMF members and non-members are invited to apply and/or nominate.
Applications will be assessed using the following criteria:
1. INNOVATION & EXCELLENCE
What aspects of the nominees practice (current or planned) show innovation and/or excellence, and how innovation and excellence in their practice is applied (or could be applied) to improve the quality of patient care.
2. IMPACT & USE
If successful, how will the funds be used! What is the potential impact of receiving the award to those in the nominee’s care, their team, or more broadly, Tasmanian healthcare. Give specific examples.
